Welcome to Nexirift (the "Service"), a federated social network operated as a personal project in Australia.

Important Notice

THIS IS A NON-COMMERCIAL, HOBBY-RUN INSTANCE. The Service is provided free of charge "AS IS" without warranties. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, support, or data retention. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Nexirift, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) and agree to these Terms, our Server Rules, and Privacy Policy.

2. Your Account

2.1 Registration and Security

  • Provide accurate registration information
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account

2.2 Non-Commercial Nature

As a personal hobby project, Nexirift operates entirely free of charge and does not accept donations, subscriptions, or any form of payment.

Anyone claiming to represent Nexirift staff and requesting donations, payments, or financial contributions is fraudulent. We have no official fundraising activities and never solicit money from users. If you encounter such solicitations, please report them immediately.

This may change in the future, but we will let you know via the announcements feature if it does.

2.3 Account Portability

You may migrate or delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, we will remove your content from our servers, but cannot control copies on other federated instances.

3. Acceptable Use

Your use must comply with our Rules. Violations may result in content removal, warnings, suspension, or account termination.

You agree to:

  • Follow all Server Rules and AUP requirements
  • Refrain from prohibited conduct as defined in our policies

4. Content and Federation

4.1 Service License

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, store, and display your content solely to operate the Service.

4.2 Your Rights

You retain ownership of all content you post. We do not claim ownership of your original content.

4.3 AI Training Prohibition

Individuals and companies are strictly prohibited from using user content posted on Nexirift for training artificial intelligence models, machine learning systems, or similar technologies without explicit written consent from the content creator. This includes but is not limited to text, images, videos, and any other user-generated content. Automated scraping or collection of user content for AI training purposes is forbidden and the content creators hold the right to take legal action against those who violate this rule.

4.4 Federation

Your public content will be automatically shared with other Fediverse servers - this is how federation works. Private content follows your privacy settings, but may still be visible to servers hosting your intended recipients. Please refer to the privacy policy for more information.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. We use essential cookies for authentication, functionality, and security. By using the Service, you consent to these practices.

6. Moderation and Enforcement

We reserve the right to:

  • Remove content that violates our policies
  • Issue warnings, suspend, or terminate accounts
  • Moderate at our sole discretion
  • Defederate from non-compliant servers

You are responsible for all content posted under your account.

7.1 No Warranties

The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all warranties regarding reliability, security, or fitness for purpose to the fullest extent permitted by Australian law.

7.2 Liability Limits

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, to the fullest extent permitted by Australian law.
